August 2009 Fishing Trip

The kids are sooo excited, even Daisi can't stand the anticipation!

This was our campsite, it was absolutely beautiful!

Since it was raining/hailing when we got to camp, Al & Jeremy got right to work cutting us some firewood.

Unfortunately for LumberJack Kippen, he learned the hard way when it came to chopping wood. Turns out they WILL fly up and hit you in the eye!

Al got right down to business, he really is very handy to have around (and not to bad looking either!). Kameisha tried out the firewood duty for a bit.

Miss Daisi started the trip out just right... with a nap!

Once the winds and the rains of the force three hurricane moved out, our campsite was even more welcoming.

Sunset at the lake was beautiful. The kids and I loved every minute of it.

Jeremy was kind enough to pack Daisi up the 2 mile trail to the lake we wanted to fish at. She thought it was great!

Here it is, not another person around.
Beautiful!!!

Garrett couldn't NOT catch a fish! He is a fishing nut!!!

Al was the designated hook remover. Poor guy didn't get much of a chance to fish!

And another one...

Kameisha was just living the dream!

I do have to say that that is the nicest farmers tan I have seen in long time :0)!

Her patiences paid off!

Jeremy jumped to her rescue...

While Al & Daisi took a nap.

And here it is, my very first fish! Since I was on camera duty, I had to snap the shot from my hip while I was reeling it in!!!

I woke Al up to do the honors!

Here are the kids with our daily catch. Daisi was just begging to get down!

Daisi was all for heading back to camp, she has found an interest in chipmunks and squirrels!

I found the most beautiful lily lake on our way back to camp. It was my favorite!

Turns out that catching your food takes alot out of a person. The family was pooped by the time we made it back to camp.

But it wasn't too long until they were up and at 'em again!

And that made Al very tired again. He is getting so old!

Kameisha kept the fire going while the rest of us got dinner started.

She takes everything he says as gospel truth, poor thing!

Garrett wanted to show us his overwhelming strength when it came to splitting wood. Pretty scary if you ask me!

But it really isn't far cuz Al makes it look sooo easy!

I know that this looks like he is saying "you cut wood like such a girl" but really he was saying "you look like such a boy in that hat!"

Goodbye to camp...

Here we are, three days without a bath :0)!!!

On the weekend of the 4th of July, Al and I loaded up and headed to Escondido, California. Of course it was for a tractor but the view was amazing!

This was the most beautiful purple tree, my picture doesn't do it justice.

Come to find out these random orange things are Palm Tree seeds. I tried really hard to get Al to buy me a Palm Tree but he seems to think that it wouldn't survive here!

Nope, this isn't the one we came for...

Not this one either...

Ah, there is our beautiful new baby!!!

And this little guy was the cutest thing I had ever seen. If Al could have distracted them long enough, I could have put it in my purse and taken it home with me.

The drive home was long and hot. We had to stop to let the truck cool off and this was the only sign of life out there! 105 is a little too hot for me!

We did stop to enjoy one of the rides Al built back in the day. We both agreed it was much faster this time! I am sure this has nothing to do with age...

And only one flat tire, he is pretty handy to have around!!!

Just outside of Cedar City, this little puppy wanted to come home with us.

We decided to stop at Cove Fort on our way home. We have been past it so many times but never took the time to visit. It was definately worth it!

THE HOMECOMING!
What more can I say...

The boys had to break out the "heavy equipment" for this job!
